Az. Agr. De Stefani

In Fossalta di Piave, where the De Stefani company has operated since 1918—the year Ernest Hemingway found refuge there after war injuries—five generations have succeeded one another around the same land. Today, the focus is Colli di Conegliano DOCG, a denomination spread across the UNESCO World Heritage hills, where Manzoni bianco, Pinot bianco, Sauvignon, and other suitable grape varieties find ideal conditions. From this range of grapes come white, red, and passito wines, each aged for at least four months before reaching the glass: a minimum time needed to compose the different voices into a recognizable expression of the territory. The long family continuity is not an anecdote but a method, evident in the consistency of the labels. The company welcomes visitors for tastings throughout the year: it is the most direct way to connect the story of a century of work to the wines that bear its name today, walking where the events of the Piave river and those of the winery have intersected.
