Az. agr. Giacobbe
Paliano · Province of Frosinone · Lazio
The story of Az. agr. Giacobbe began in 1939, when Giacobbe Leopoldo planted the first vines on the hills of San Giovenale, in Paliano. Three generations have since expanded the estate to fifteen hectares distributed between Paliano, Piglio, and Olevano Romano, leading to in-house bottling in 2006 under Alberto's guidance. The production core is the Cesanese del Piglio DOCG, the red wine that defines this corner of Ciociaria, aged here for a minimum of four months and reaching twelve degrees alcohol. It's a measured interpretation of the vitigno, favoring immediacy over weight, and telling the story of a territory where vines climb the hills across three contiguous municipalities. Family continuity is the thread beneath the denomination: not a whim, but the way knowledge has been passed down over eighty years. Visits and tastings are available year-round: it's worth taking advantage to taste the Cesanese where it originates, in the place that has made it recognizable.
