From its base in Apiro, in the province of Macerata, Roberto Cantori works with four Marche DOCG denominations, a rare and impressive range for a single winery. The whites offer two distinct interpretations of Verdicchio: the mineral-driven Verdicchio di Matelica and the broader-area Castelli di Jesi Riserva. The reds feature the Cònero, crafted from Montepulciano and Sangiovese and aged for at least twenty-four months, and the Vernaccia di Serrapetrona, a black grape variety vinified as both a sparkling and a still wine. The farming is organic, and winemaking is thoughtfully measured; the declared goal is to let the grape's character shine through without overpowering it. The result is a catalog that, more than just a collection of labels, truly reflects the diverse character of central Marche, nestled between inland hills and various influences. Visitors are invited to taste directly in the cellar, a wonderful way to experience four distinct territories within the span of a few glasses.
