AZ. AGR. SETTEN DAVIDE ALCIDE
Mansuè · Province of Treviso · Veneto
On the plain of Mansuè, in the locality of Basalghelle, Setten Davide Alcide cultivates vineyards equidistant from the Venetian lagoon and the first Alpine foothills, a middle position that marks the character of the wines. The winery manages two DOCG denominations in opposing registers: on one side, the Lison whites, made from Tai grapes, fresh and with a mineral tone; on the other, the Piave Malanotte reds, an expression of the indigenous Raboso. It is the latter that demand more patience. Spicy, austere, markedly vinous, the Malanotte wines require thirty-six months of aging before release, a constraint that reflects the attention given to every step, from vineyard to bottle. Thus, only two denominations, but positioned at opposite ends of the spectrum: the saline nerve of a coastal white and the tannic structure of a red for long aging. Their contrast reveals the dual nature of this Treviso plain, suspended between the influence of the sea and that of the mountains.
