Az. Agr. Tarricone Marco

In Cerignola, within one of Puglia's most extensive protected origins, Marco Tarricone produces oil under the Dauno DOP, the sole denomination he oversees, spread across 61 municipalities in the province of Foggia. The green-yellow chromatic spectrum evokes ripe regional fruit, and the profile delivers the balance characteristic of the area: full-bodied fruitiness, with measured notes of pungency and bitterness. The vast scale of the denomination could dilute its identity, but Tarricone's work instead brings it back to a precise rooting in the terroir of the Tavoliere, the great Foggia plain that dictates the character of these oils. There's no pursuit of effects: the pungency and bitterness remain light, functional for table use rather than technical demonstration. It's an oil that chooses territorial coherence as its measure, within a protected origin so broad that, to remain legible, it requires precisely this type of local anchoring. Cerignola thus becomes the point where an enormous denomination narrows into a recognizable signature.
