Az. Agricola Mosconi Marco
Illasi · Province of Verona · Veneto
In Illasi, in the province of Verona, Marco Mosconi manages a vineyard inherited from his grandmother Rosetta and uncle Alessandro. Trained as a surveyor and a conservatory musician, he returned to his grandparents' land after a series of encounters with wine professionals, and today he produces two Valpolicella denominations, both DOCG and linked to the appassimento of grapes. The winery's focus is on great wines from dried grapes. Amarone della Valpolicella ages for at least 24 months and exceeds 14 degrees alcohol, building structure and concentration; Recioto della Valpolicella, sweet by vocation, comes in passito and sparkling versions starting from 12 degrees. These are two expressions born from the same gesture — drying the grapes before vinification — but diverging in outcome, between dry fullness and sweetness. The winery welcomes visitors for tastings: a stop in Illasi allows one to taste the two DOCG wines in sequence and grasp how a conscious choice in the vineyard and cellar translates into the glass.
