Az. Agricola Vigna '800 di Elampini Gianfranco

In Negrar di Valpolicella, Gianfranco Elampini leads Az. Agricola Vigna '800, focusing on two denominations, Amarone della Valpolicella and Recioto della Valpolicella, both DOCG. The grapes are Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, processed with an idea of continuity with the winemaking methods of previous generations, as evoked by the company's very name. The two wines originate from the same volcanic soils but follow different paths: Amarone requires at least 24 months of aging to build its structure, while Recioto entrusts its character to controlled appassimento, in the sweet red berry version. These are the two faces of the same territory, one dry and long-lasting, the other sweet and concentrated, interpreted here without shortcuts, as an artisanal rather than industrial endeavor.
