Amarone della Valpolicella DOCGRecioto della Valpolicella DOCG

On the northern hills of Verona, the Zanoni family has been cultivating vines since the early 1900s, distributing approximately eight hectares across three distinct plots in Valpolicella. The contained size is not a limitation but a methodological choice: productive control and patient maturation guide every phase, from grape to bottle. The two denominations produced—Amarone and Recioto della Valpolicella, both DOCG—share the varietal lexicon of the territory, Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, and the practice of appassimento that concentrates their substance and aromas. The difference between the two wines reveals two faces of the same terroir: the Amarone, dry and expansive over its minimum twenty-four months of aging, and the sweet Recioto, which retains the sugar of the dried grapes. In both, selective fermentations and long aging times work in favor of complexity rather than volume. Every harvest is interpreted as an expression of a specific vintage and place, where fidelity to the hillside identity matters more than the quantity bottled.
