Az. Vit. Tonnino Antonio
Antonio Tonnino's estate brings together two souls of the same island. Under the Sicilia IGP, it produces an extra virgin olive oil with a maximum acidity of 0.5% and at least 100 mg/kg of polyphenols, recognizable by its green tomato aromas. Under the Sicilia DOC, it crafts wines with a minimum alcohol content of twelve degrees. These two denominations share the same vast basin of 391 municipalities. The winemaking side relies on indigenous grapes like Nero d'Avola and Nerello Mascalese, alongside international varieties, for white, red, and rosé wines. The olive oil production translates the same landscape into a green, vegetal fruit. This dual approach describes Sicily as an agricultural territory first and foremost, where olive trees and vines share climate, soils, and seasons. The estate does not offer visits, but the comparison between these two denominated products is enough to convey the breadth and coherence of a single declared origin.
