Azienda Agricola Berloni Giuliano began in the early nineties with a precise act: the planting of about three thousand olive trees on the hilly lands of Colli al Metauro. From the outset, the family chose the path of certified organic farming, positioning themselves among the pioneers of organic olive growing in the Pesaro area, at a time when certification was still rare. The product is singular and protected: the Cartoceto DOP extra virgin olive oil, a denomination that encompasses a small district of the Metauro hills. In Berloni's oil, that territory is reflected in its mineral character and a clear, green fruitiness, devoid of softening, which reveals the local cultivars more than any intervention in the mill. Behind this is a declared conviction—that the safeguarding of soil and landscape produces superior oils—and that agronomic principle becomes a gustatory hallmark: precision instead of abundance, tension instead of roundness.
