AZIENDA AGRICOLA BORTONE COSIMO

In Rutino, amidst the inland hills of Cilento, Cosimo Bortone's farm cultivates five protected denominations. The cornerstone is Cilento DOP extra virgin olive oil, with its greenish-yellow color and a piquant note that signals its cultivar; alongside it are four DOP and IGT wines made from Aglianico, Barbera, and Sangiovese. This range unites olive groves and vineyards within the same hilly landscape. The agricultural activity is complemented by a six-room agriturismo, each with its own furnishings, overlooking the olive groves where an outdoor breakfast immediately connects product and land. While the estate is not open for wine tours, its model seamlessly integrates cultivation and rural hospitality in one place. The five denominations paint a compact portrait of inland Cilento, where the oil sets the pace and the red wines complement its character.
