On the 58 hectares that descend from the southwestern slope of Montalcino towards the Orcia and Ombrone rivers, Azienda Agricola Caprili focuses its work on twenty-five hectares of vineyards. Twenty-three are dedicated to Sangiovese Grosso, alongside Trebbiano, Malvasia, Vermentino, and Moscadello: a range that reflects the pedoclimatic variety of these slopes. The Bartolommei family, now in its third generation, works on clonal selection and terroir expression, the measure by which their sole reference denomination—Terre di Siena DOP—takes root. Their approach is that of a company that reads its soil before the market: Montalcino's microclimate, the rivers that define its borders, and the exposure of the rows guide agronomic rather than stylistic choices. The result is wines that convey a precise sense of place, without seeking artificial effects.
