AZIENDA AGRICOLA COVIELLO EUGENIO
Roccadaspide · Province of Salerno · Campania
Eugenio Coviello cultivates vineyards and olive groves in Roccadaspide, a hillside town in the Salerno area, deep in Cilento, where his work spans five protected denominations. Four concern wine and outline a spectrum ranging from the structured reds of Cilento DOC, based on Aglianico and Piedirosso, to the more agile blends of Paestum IGT, passing through Castel San Lorenzo DOC and the broad umbrella of Colli di Salerno IGT. The fifth denomination takes the work beyond the glass: extra virgin olive oil Cilento DOP, yellowish-green, with black pepper notes rising in the mouth and the fruity intensity typical of the liquid gold from this Mediterranean strip. Wine and oil are born from the same hillside and the same hand, and together they tell of an agriculture that does not separate vine from olive tree but treats them as two facets of the same Cilento terroir—one for the table, the other for the daily seasoning that defines local cuisine.
