AZIENDA AGRICOLA CUOMO GAETANO

Gaetano Cuomo works in southern Campania, where denominations stretch from the 58 municipalities of Cilento to the broader area of Colli di Salerno. His work encompasses four wine denominations: from Castel San Lorenzo, which owes its color to Barbera and Sangiovese, to Cilento reds built on Aglianico and Piedirosso, and extending to the more open spaces of the IGTs Colli di Salerno and Paestum. Each label captures a different fragment of this Tyrrhenian strip, between inland hills and proximity to the sea. Alongside the vineyard, there's the olive grove: the Cilento DOP extra virgin olive oil displays the typical greenish-yellow hue of the area, a fruity nose, and a spicy finish that is its signature. Five denominations in total—four for wine and one for oil—interpret the same territory from complementary angles, seeking not uniformity but the variety of soils and grapes. The result is an agricultural portrait of southern Campania rather than a single reference product.
