AZIENDA AGRICOLA CUOMO MICHELINA

Furore · Province of Salerno · Campania

Castel San Lorenzo DOCCilento DOPCilento DOC+2

In Furore, where the Campanian coast becomes steep and volcanic soils demand serious viticulture, Azienda Agricola Cuomo Michelina oversees five protected denominations. Four concern wine and cover multiple registers: Cilento and Castel San Lorenzo as DOCs, along with the broader designations of Paestum and Colli di Salerno as IGTs. Barbera, Aglianico, and Piedirosso underpin the reds, while Coda di Volpe brings minerality to the whites. The fifth denomination, however, belongs to the table: the Cilento DOP extra virgin olive oil, which from its area of origin delivers the characteristic green-yellow color range and spicy nature typical of the region. Holding together four wine protections and one for oil means overseeing two supply chains with the same care, from the vineyard to the olive grove. The winery is not open to visitors, but this dual vocation—glass and oil mill—explains the producer's connection to their Salerno territory better than any label.
