Azienda Agricola De Toma

In Scanzorosciate, at the gates of Bergamo, Azienda Agricola De Toma has cultivated its land since 1894, with five generations dedicated to one of Lombardy's rarest indigenous grape varieties, Moscato di Scanzo. Their work falls within two controlled designations of origin, Valcalepio and Terre del Colleoni, which define the wine-growing area of this eastern hilly strip. The estate harmoniously combines the safeguarding of a family heritage with an oenological approach attentive to contemporary techniques, without opposing the two. The territory is circumscribed and highly suitable, and its very narrowness explains why it can yield a grape variety not found elsewhere. Visitors to the cellar can observe this singularity directly in the vineyard and then in the glass: visits and tastings are open, allowing one to understand how family knowledge and technical precision converge on a small patch of hills capable of expressing something truly unique.
