AZIENDA AGRICOLA ESPOSITO GIOVANNI

Across thirty hectares of vineyards in Orta Nova, where the slopes of the Subappennino Dauno descend towards the Tavoliere delle Puglie, Azienda Agricola Esposito Giovanni encompasses five denominations that intertwine two regions. The thermal excursions and sea winds lend backbone to indigenous grape varieties—Nero di Troia, Aglianico, Bombino, Negramaro, Primitivo—which the estate expresses in various styles. The bulk of the work is viticultural and structured by levels of protection: two Denominazioni di Origine Controllata, Cilento DOC and Castel San Lorenzo DOC, yield wines with distinct characters, while the Indicazione Geografica Tipica versions move between Paestum IGT and Colli di Salerno IGT with greater freedom. Completing the profile is the sole non-wine origin, the Cilento DOP, an extra virgin olive oil with a yellowish-green color and bitter and spicy notes. Five titles, then, that bring together wine and oil under a single Apulian address, without the breadth diluting the identity of each.
