In Cilento, Campania, Azienda Agricola Gentile Pasquale distributes its work across five protected denominations covering a vast territory, up to 305 municipalities. Four concern wine, ranging from the compact profile of Castel San Lorenzo DOC to the broader scope of Colli di Salerno IGT, including Cilento DOC and Paestum IGT. To these areas, the company entrusts black grape varieties such as Barbera, Aglianico, and Piedirosso, held together by minimum alcohol content starting from 10%. The fifth denomination changes register: it is Cilento DOP extra virgin olive oil, recognizable by its yellow-green color and the fruity and spicy characteristics that anchor it to the region's terroir. Wine and oil are not two separate activities but two expressions of the same Cilento landscape, interpreted through the vineyard and the olive grove. The result is an orderly range of styles, where each denomination tells a precise portion of a cohesive agricultural territory.
