AZIENDA AGRICOLA GIORDANO ALFONSO

On the slopes of Tramonti, within Cilento, Azienda Agricola Giordano Alfonso works calcareous soils swept by coastal breezes, conditions that shape both wine and oil. The range is extensive: four wine denominations—the two DOCs Castel San Lorenzo and Cilento alongside the IGTs Colli di Salerno and Paestum—plus the Cilento DOP olive oil, for a total of five protected designations. On the oenological side, the scale ranges from the structured reds of Castel San Lorenzo to the broader scope allowed by the IGTs, which leave room for different interpretations of the same landscape. Cilento DOP oil, for its part, carries the greenish-yellow hue and peppery finish typical of the area. Managing multiple terroirs and protected zones here is not a display, but a response to a varied Campanian geology that demands disciplined cultivation and distinct interpretations parcel by parcel. The result is the profile of a producer who uses denominations to express the differences in soils, not to multiply labels.
