Azienda Agricola Giovanni Pileggi

Camini · Province of Reggio Calabria · Calabria

Bivongi DOC

In Camini, on the Ionian side of the Reggio Calabria area, Azienda Agricola Giovanni Pileggi works where the slopes of Aspromonte shape the terroir of Bivongi DOC, the winery's sole denomination, spread across ten municipalities. In the vineyard, the grape varieties that tell the story of Calabria — Gaglioppo, Greco nero, Nocera, and Calabrese — coexist, giving rise to reds, whites, and rosés with a minimum alcohol content of twelve degrees. The style is one of viticulture that brings together volcanic minerality and Mediterranean sun, expressed in wines firmly rooted in their land. Here, ancient cultivation knowledge aligns with today's quality standards, without one prevailing over the other. The winery does not open for visits, but the Bivongi it bottles is enough to place this Ionian corner within the geography of Calabrian reds, where the variety of grapes and types paints a complete portrait of the territory that expresses them.
