Azienda Agricola Giuseppe Romano

Among the Hyblaean Mountains, in the Val di Noto in the province of Ragusa, Azienda Agricola Giuseppe Romano cultivates nine hectares dedicated to Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG, Sicily's only denomination with maximum guarantee. The limestone of the plateaus here is the geological premise for a vino that is born from the union of two uve, Nero d'Avola providing body and Frappato bringing fruit and vibrancy. From a family tradition of direct cultivation, the azienda has developed a targeted, small-scale production, focused on a single oenological objective. The minimum eight months of affinamento are sufficient to compose reds of decisive yet elegant character, where the island's warmth does not overwhelm their finezza. It is a niche interpretation of one of the island's most demanding terroirs: a few hectares, two vitigni, a single denomination, and the choice to engage with it without dispersing into other ventures.
