Azienda Agricola Orseggi

Lavagna · Province of Genova · Liguria

Riviera Ligure DOP

On the steep terraces overlooking Lavagna, where the Ligurian coast gives way to the first Apennine foothills, Azienda Agricola Orseggi cultivates the Taggiasca, the cultivar that identifies olive growing in this stretch of the Riviera. Dry stone walls support rows exposed to the Mediterranean sun and buffeted by sea breezes: two elements that contribute to shaping the profile of each harvest, season after season. From these olives comes an extra virgin olive oil that falls under the Riviera Ligure DOP, a denomination extended to 186 municipalities, reflecting its measured sweetness and fruity freshness. Processing follows the logic imposed by the terraced slope, where the incline necessitates manual harvesting and short times between field and mill. The result is an oil that precisely reflects the character of this coastal strip suspended between sea and mountains, far from any industrial shortcuts.
