Azienda Agricola Ottavio Ferreri

In Sant'Agata li Battiati, at the foot of the Monti Iblei, Azienda Agricola Ottavio Ferreri cultivates its vines on volcanic soils, to which it attributes the mineral intensity that runs through its Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG. This is the company's sole denomination, and it receives all its attention: an emblematic red wine of Sicilian viticulture, built on the encounter between Nero d'Avola and Frappato. Aging in the cellar, for no less than eight months, serves to build structure and depth without dampening the vibrancy of the blend. The work is located in one of the reference areas of Sicilian oenology, where the denomination imposes a delicate balance between the two grape varieties. Ferreri precisely pursues that exact measure, the proportion in which the dark fruit of Nero d'Avola and the freshness of Frappato find harmony. The result looks to the place before the style: wines that declare their origin and a conscious winemaking, attentive to what the volcanic soil is capable of yielding.
