AZIENDA AGRICOLA PAGLIARI GABRIELE
Montefelcino · Province of Pesaro e Urbino · Marche
Gabriele Pagliari's farm in Montefelcino, in the Pesaro area, manages four DOCG denominations that summarize the oenological backbone of Marche. From Vernaccia nera della Serrapetrona come sparkling and red wines; the Cònero, made from Montepulciano and Sangiovese, requires two years of aging before being presented. Completing the picture are two Verdicchio reserves—one from the eight municipalities of Matelica, the other from the nineteen municipalities of Castelli di Jesi—which rest for a minimum of eighteen months, gaining structure and complexity. This range brings into dialogue the two great white-wine souls of Verdicchio, with a tauter style in Matelica and a broader one in the Jesi area, with the full-bodied reds of Cònero and the rare sparkling Vernaccia nera. These are, not by chance, among the most demanding terroirs of central Italy, where long resting times are not a formality but a condition for balance. The cellar is open for visits and tastings: stopping in Montefelcino allows one to experience the entire regional scale in a single tasting, from long-aged whites to structured reds.
