Tenuta Mainardi was founded in 1955 when Giuseppe Serra began cultivating vegetables, oil, and wine on the slopes of the Calore valley in Aquara. Now in its third generation, the farm maintains the organic practices inherited from local peasant agriculture, a method that marks every vintage as it does every batch of Cilento DOP oil. The Salerno territory is evident throughout the entire range: the Cilento denominations and the two geographical indications of Salernitano and Paestum describe a landscape where vines and olive trees share the same hillside. Five accolades—four for wine, one for extra virgin olive oil—represent six decades of agricultural discipline more than just a simple label. The reds and whites of Castel San Lorenzo and Cilento accompany the DOP oils, tracing the continuity between soil, climate, and the farmer's hand.
