In the locality of Su Leunaxi, in Settimo San Pietro, the Ferruccio Deiana winery works with four controlled designations of origin linked to Parteolla, the hilly region behind Cagliari. The Cagliari DOC whites and rosés are born from Malvasia and Monica, while Nuragus defines the fresher, more everyday side of the range. The register changes with Nasco and Girò, two rare reds destined for fortification: they require at least 13.5% alcohol and a period in wood that thickens their profile, bringing to light a sweet and powerful production that Sardinia risked losing. Under a single denomination, Cagliari, 182 municipalities extend, and the winery interprets this breadth by combining contemporary technology with knowledge of the soils. The result is a range that goes from aperitif white to after-dinner wine, held together by indigenous grape varieties and the matrix of the Sardinian terroir. Those passing through Parteolla can visit the cellar and taste these four faces of Cagliari on-site.
