Val Tidone IGT

In Lugagnano Val d'Arda, on the slopes of the Piacenza area, Saccomani cultivates a single denomination, Val Tidone IGT, leveraging the gentle exposure of the hills for well-defined whites and reds. The winery focuses on the aromatic varieties of the territory — Malvasia bianca aromatica and Moscato bianco — alongside Trebbiano romagnolo, a trio that allows for a range of still, sparkling, and red versions without exceeding the boundaries of a single IGT. It is in the diversification of types that the breadth of this seemingly restricted work is measured: the same denomination produces light sparkling wines and mellow reds, united by the soil's minerality and a deliberately measured winemaking approach. The result brings complexity well beyond the 10.5% minimum alcohol that defines Val Tidone, indicating that here the threshold parameter is a starting point, not a finish line. An interpretation of the Piacenza territory made of nuances rather than volume, all contained within a single protected perimeter.
