Azienda Vitivinicola Valerio Zenato

Valerio Zenato works within the Custoza DOC, an area of nine municipalities where calcareous soils and currents descending from the Alpine arc shape a white viticulture with a northern profile. A single denomination, yet interpreted across its entire range, from the most immediate wines to those destined for aging. The repertoire relies on Bianca Fernanda, Garganega, and Trebbiano Toscano, grape varieties that in white, superiore, and riserva formats reach at least 11% alcohol. Each version results from a precise calibration between fruit maturation in the vineyard and work in the cellar: entry-level whites focus on freshness, while the longer-aged riserva wines build complexity over time. It's a range that tells the story of the same denomination at different speeds. The winery is not open for visits, allowing the spectrum of its Custoza wines — from the lightest to the most mature — to demonstrate how Zenato interprets the balance between readiness and aging potential of this northern Italian hillside white.
