In Menfi, in the Agrigento area, Planeta interprets the Sicilia denomination across two complementary registers: controlled designation wine and geographical indication oil, the two protected facets of the same territory. For reds, the house moves between Nero d'Avola, Merlot, and Syrah, seeking Mediterranean character rather than power, and also offers whites and rosés alongside the reds. Behind this lies a five-century-long family continuity—seventeen generations—which the company treats not as a relic but as a habit of change and agricultural innovation. On the oil front, the extra virgin olive oil adheres to strict parameters for acidity and polyphenols, a measure of rigor alongside a measure of taste.
