BALDI PIERFRANCO Azienda Agricola

🏡 Tastings & visitsBarbera d'Asti DOCGRuchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCGTerre Alfieri DOCG

For six generations, the Baldi Pierfranco family has cultivated vines on the Burio hill, where Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato meet. The farming is certified organic, with strips of woodland and meadows left between the rows to protect biodiversity: a choice that speaks volumes about how the company understands its craft, more guardian than exploiter of the land. The portfolio is distributed across three Piedmontese denominations of maximum guarantee, each with its own grammar: the Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato, aromatic and recognizable; the Barbera d'Asti, which requires at least four months of aging to develop; and the Terre Alfieri, offered in both red and white. Three contiguous yet distinct areas, which the company holds together without flattening them into a single style. The winery welcomes those who wish to understand this intersection of terroirs directly on site: it is advisable to book a tasting among the barrels, where comparing the wines makes it clear why this strip of hill deserved three different denominations.
