Balìa di Zola

Modigliana · Province of Forlì-Cesena · Emilia-Romagna

🏡 Tastings & visitsRomagna Albana DOCG

The name Balìa di Zola dates back to an eighteenth-century farm in Modigliana, in the Romagna hills, and still today indicates a precise location: fifteen hectares arranged like an amphitheater around an ancient farmhouse. Here, Romagna Albana DOCG is produced, in both dry and passito versions, with each vintage reflecting its unique terroir signature. Winemaking adheres to principles of environmental respect, allowing the Albana, along with suitable white grape varieties, to register the variability of the vintages: sometimes more subtle and elegant, sometimes more structured. It is a wine that does not seek uniformity but rather fidelity to the year, relying on artisanal practice and accumulated experience on these slopes. The amphitheater shape of the rows, the exposure, and the farmhouse at the center compose an agricultural landscape that is legible at a glance. Visitors to Modigliana can walk through the vineyards surrounding the farmhouse and taste the dry and passito Albana where they are born, comparing the two souls of the same grape variety in the place that defines them.
