BARALE F.LLI di BARALE SERGIO
Barolo · Province of Cuneo · Piemonte
At the foot of Barolo Castle, the Barale family cultivates thirteen hectares in the Langhe, where Nebbiolo changes its voice depending on the hill that hosts it. The four DOCG denominations are divided by grape variety: on one side, the two benchmark Nebbiolo wines, Barolo and Barbaresco; on the other, the Dolcetto wines, with Dogliani and Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba. Barolo rests for 38 months and Barbaresco for 26, long periods designed to let the terroir speak without compromise. Generations of winemakers have refined a craft here that demands respect, wine after wine, hill after hill, without cellar shortcuts. The winery opens its doors to those who wish to see this way of working up close: from the tasting room to the Aie Sottane guesthouse, where you can sleep just steps from the rows of vines. Stop for a guided tasting and, if you wish, for a night beside the vineyards from which these wines are born.
