BARBERINI DAVIDE

From San Lorenzo in Campo, in the Pesaro area, Davide Barberini brings together four DOCG denominations that outline the entire oenological fabric of Marche. The repertoire moves from reds to whites with the same rigor: the Vernaccia di Serrapetrona, a black grape vinified into a sparkling wine and a red with firm tannins; the structured Cònero, born from Montepulciano and Sangiovese and aged for at least twenty-four months; and two Verdicchio Riserva wines originating from distinct terroirs. The difference between the latter is entirely geographical: on one side, the calcareous slopes of Matelica, on the other, the broader amphitheater of the Castelli di Jesi, offering two interpretations of the same white grape variety. Each label adheres to strict regulations, and it is precisely in respecting these constraints that the meaning of their work is measured—not the pursuit of effect, but the defense of a hierarchy. Managing four such diverse denominations means traversing the entire verticality of Marche wine, from crisp and mineral white to long-aged red. Barberini thus positions himself as a guardian of that territorial coherence, with a foot in each of the region's great zones.
