Basile Domenico

In Rocca Imperiale, the only municipality in the province of Cosenza where Limone di Rocca Imperiale IGP ripens, Basile Domenico cultivates a citrus fruit from the Femminello group, which owes its balance of acidity and aroma to Calabria's temperate microclimate. The fruit originates from a circumscribed territory, where proximity to the sea and ventilation create a recognizable character, marked by abundant juice and aromatic peel. Alongside this acidic citrus, the Clementina di Calabria IGP is cultivated, an apirena variety that spans hundreds of municipalities in the region and encapsulates its citrus vocation. From a single production site, the company brings together two protected denominations that speak of different seasons and uses: the table and processing lemon, and the sweet clementine for fresh winter consumption. This reflects an agricultural approach that, without expanding, continuously safeguards the certified origins of its territory, entrusting quality to the consistency of the effort rather than the extent of the cultivated areas.
