Michele and Patrik left secure jobs to dedicate themselves to the terraced vineyards of Valtellina. Their winery in Albosaggia, housed in an early 20th-century building, occupies an unusual position: from the opposite side of the valley, they vinify grapes harvested in the Sassella, Grumello, and Inferno subzones, a path no one else takes. The company has grown gradually, starting from grape sales and equipping itself label by label, machine by machine. Their repertoire revolves around two expressions of mountain Nebbiolo: Valtellina Superiore, taut and vertical, and Sforzato di Valtellina, a red wine from dried grapes that concentrates the power of the slopes. Both denominations bear the DOCG mark and the counter-current spirit encapsulated in the company's dialectal name. Those who visit Albosaggia can book a cellar tour and taste the two wines side by side, discerning in the glass the difference between the freshness of the Superiore and the density of the Sforzato.
