Bel Raggio

In Castel del Piano, on the edge of an area encompassing seven municipalities in the Grosseto area, Bel Raggio produces a single wine: Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG. This clear choice declares a vision of the territory, one where Sangiovese, supported by permitted Tuscan red varieties, seeks precision rather than power. The volcanic soils impart a mineral tension that the wine retains even when its structure becomes significant, with alcohol levels naturally reaching at least 13%. Time is an integral part of the project. Each bottle rests for a minimum of seventeen months in wood, a process that not only softens but also builds, layering complexity and making the vintage legible. It is a patient work, governed by strict aging protocols, yielding serious wines, designed to last and to tell the story of the Mount Amiata ridge rather than to merely please. Bel Raggio thus interprets the sole Montecucco denomination: a single label understood as a synthesis, not a limitation.
