Bera

Alta Langa DOCG

Among the vineyards of Neviglie, in the Piedmontese Langhe, Bera dedicates itself to Alta Langa DOCG, the classic method sparkling wine that blends Pinot Nero and Chardonnay with other permitted non-aromatic grape varieties. It's a clear choice, made after a precise change of direction: originally a producer selling unlabeled bulk grapes, the company shifted towards quality in the late 1970s, establishing itself as a full-fledged sparkling wine house. Today, Valter Bera continues this direction with a demanding concept of time: each sparkling wine rests for at least thirty months before being released to the market, well beyond the minimum, so that aging on the lees becomes part of its character and not just a simple compliance. The family management of these Langa rows connects the current work to multiple generations rooted in the same territory. The result is a sparkling wine that asserts precision and patience, measured more by the length of the wait than by immediate yield, consistent with the high-hill denomination it bears.
