Barbera d'Asti DOCGRuchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCGTerre Alfieri DOCG

In Neviglie, in the province of Cuneo, Cascina Palazzo of Bera Attilio oversees three DOCG denominations that tell three stories of Piedmontese winemaking. There is Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato, an indigenous and rare grape variety that reaches 12.5 percent alcohol content; there are the Terre Alfieri wines, distributed across eleven municipalities, including both whites and reds; and there is Barbera d'Asti, aged for at least four months to allow its structure to emerge. Three origins, therefore, covering different registers—the aromatic and rare red, the bicolor, limited-range denomination, and the Barbera that remains the symbolic red of the area. Holding them together requires precise cellar logic, capable of adapting vinification and aging to raw materials that do not demand the same care. From this corner of Cuneo, on the edge of Monferrato, Cascina Palazzo thus builds a catalog that alternates indigenous and classic grape varieties, measuring each label by its ability to faithfully reflect the terroir from which it comes.
