In Montefalco, Bocale is the project of the Valentini family, winemakers dedicated to preserving oenological knowledge passed down through generations on Umbria's volcanic soils. The winery embraces a distinctly natural production, employing artisanal methods designed to allow the character of the indigenous grape varieties to emerge without force. Everything converges on a single denomination, Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG, one of central Italy's most distinctive red wines. Aged for at least thirty-seven months, Sagrantino displays a tannic power and complexity that few grape varieties can match, finding its ideal home here among the appellation's five municipalities.
