BOMBARDA MARCO

In the low plain between Sermide and Felonica, at the Mantuan extremity of Lombardia, Marco Bombarda cultivates Melone Mantovano IGP. The soil and climate of this agricultural strip have long favored the fruit, which the sole claimed denomination precisely describes: salmon-yellow flesh, compact and thick, sweetness exceeding 12 Brix degrees, and delicate aromas, with those notes of watermelon and mushrooms that the regulations associate with the authentic territory. The protected area encompasses about forty municipalities, and within that perimeter, Bombarda represents the craft of the grower more than a brand. It is one of the most classic agricultural landscapes in the country, where the quality of the melon largely depends on the hand that chooses the moment of harvest. The company is not among those open to visitors: it is known by its fruit, a tangible measure of an agriculture deeply rooted here and continuing to define itself through what it brings to market.
