Bonaldi Giampietro

San Pietro in Cariano · Province of Verona · Veneto

Lugana DOC

Giampietro Bonaldi works on the border where Veneto blends into Lombardia, where San Pietro in Cariano slopes towards the single denomination that defines his work: Lugana DOC. At its heart is Turbiana—the Trebbiano di Soave that goes by another name here—a grape that tolerates no approximations, neither in the vineyard nor in the cellar. Bonaldi is not content with a single interpretation of the grape: he explores the entire spectrum of the denomination, from the leaner white to the more structured Superiore, all the way to the Riserva designed for aging. Each version achieves the minimum alcohol content of 11% that the cool microclimate of Lugana allows, and no more. This method reflects the character of the place: no shortcuts, no excesses, just a constant pursuit of precision. The territory dictates the conditions, and the producer complies, allowing the freshness and rigor of the white wine to become the recognizable signature of every bottle.
