Bonotto delle Tezze

In Vazzola, in northeastern Treviso, Bonotto delle Tezze cultivates vines between the Prealps and the left bank of the Piave river as it flows towards the sea. The family has worked this land since the fifteenth century, and over twenty generations have updated the style without breaking its continuity. The reference is the `delle Venezie DOC`, a broad denomination of the Northeast that here focuses on `Pinot Grigio`, `Chardonnay`, and `Verduzzo`. From these grape varieties come white, rosé, and `ramato` wines: this last type, obtained by leaving the must in contact with the skins of `Pinot Grigio`, yields wines with a coppery color that speak of a local practice rather than a recent trend.
