Borgo Antico
Conegliano · Province of Treviso · Veneto
On the UNESCO hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, Borgo Antico has been crafting a single denomination, Conegliano Valdobbiadene - Prosecco DOCG, since 1973. The primary grape is Glera in purity, harvested within the protected zone, and the wine becomes its interpreter: the local argillaceous schists impart a salinity that the glass precisely conveys. The Superiore is the pinnacle of the range, a sparkling wine that bears the character of this amphitheater of steep slopes. In the Brut, the profile becomes more aromatic—acacia blossom and white fruit—without ever losing the backbone of dryness that defines its style: a decisive, crisp, elegant wine, perfect as an aperitif and equally suited to fish. The family dimension of the winery is not a biographical detail but a method, the way each vintage is interpreted as a unique expression of the terroir. Fifty years on the same ridge have refined a coherent reading of the Treviso hills, where the steepness of the soil and the exclusive choice of Glera are enough to distinguish a Prosecco that makes no compromises.
