Borgo di Corte

In Torreano, in the province of Udine, Davide and Nicola Malisani lead Borgo di Corte across three of Friuli's most demanding denominations. The sweet wine category is represented by Ramandolo DOCG, made from Verduzzo Friulano with a minimum of fourteen degrees of alcohol; the rest of the range spans the Rosazzo and Colli Orientali areas, featuring Friulano, Sauvignon, and the rare Picolit. These grape varieties are bound by regional purity rules that allow no approximations: each harvest demands precision, as DOCG criteria leave little room for error. The brothers' portfolio thus ranges from dry to passito wines, rooted in hilly terroirs that reward discipline even more than ambition. Three denominations, united by a method that prioritizes rigor over quantity: together, they paint a portrait of eastern Friuli where quality is measured by the ability to respect strict constraints, vintage after vintage, without seeking effects that do not belong to the territory.
