BORGO VERITAS

In the Friulian plain, halfway between the Dolomites and the Adriatic, Borgo Veritas brings five generations of winemaking expertise into dialogue with contemporary research. The Brugnera estate interprets the Friuli Grave regulations on two registers: in white with Pinot grigio, Sauvignon, and Friulano, and in red with Refosco, Merlot, and Cabernet franc, covering the entire palette permitted by the DOC. The Grave is a landscape shaped by man as much as by nature, made of gravelly soils deposited by the river, which yield mineral and well-defined wines, perfectly suited for the nearby seafood cuisine. Here, the hand of the producers doesn't conceal the environment but rather supports it, shaping the vineyards on the gravels. The winery is open for visits: it's advisable to book a tour to taste the Grave whites and reds in sequence and understand, glass after glass, how the same gravelly soil changes accent from the taut Friulano to the darker Refosco.
