Borgogno
Barolo · Province of Cuneo · Piemonte
The underground cellars of Borgogno, in Barolo, hold a rare memory of the Langa region: the estate has overseen its vineyards since 1761, spanning Barolo, Madonna di Como, and the Colli Tortonesi, having banned chemical fertilizers and herbicides. Fermentation takes place in concrete vats with wild yeasts, and aging in large Slavonian oak barrels, a method that distills the austerity of the terroir into profound complexity. From this same rigor, the company's sole denomination takes shape: the Vermut di Torino IGP, where winemaking expertise meets the art of Piedmontese aromatization. Borgogno is also pursuing organic certification, seeking a balance between respect for the land and a forward-looking vision. Visitors to the estate can descend into the cellars and trace, among the barrels, over two and a half centuries of uninterrupted work: an invitation to experience firsthand the connection between this terroir and its products, from raw material to the aromatized glass.
