BORGOGNO RIVATA s.s.a
Guarene · Province of Cuneo · Piemonte
Borgogno Rivata operates between La Morra and Guarene, two Langa villages separated by just a few kilometers yet distinct in soil and microclimate. The cellars occupy a family farm building, a tangible sign of a management style passed down through generations. From this foundation, the estate interprets four protected denominations, all DOCG: Nebbiolo in its two peaks—Barolo, aged thirty-eight months, and Barbaresco—and two expressions of Dolcetto, namely Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba and Dogliani. This wine geography brings together the king grape of the hills and its more immediate counterparts, without convenient hierarchies. Each label reflects the geology of the exact spot where it originates, composing a multifaceted portrait of this UNESCO-recognized stretch of hills. The quadruple register—from the long-aged Barolo to the more direct Dolcetto—speaks of a producer who reads the terroir as a map of differences, not uniformities. The winery is open to visitors: a stop that allows one to explore, in a single visit, the entire spectrum of Langa reds.
