Amarone della Valpolicella DOCGRecioto della Valpolicella DOCG

In 1928, Carlo and Maria Botter transformed a modest wine trade into a cornerstone of the Venetian landscape, operating from Fossalta di Piave, a short distance from Venice. The company soon linked its name to two of Valpolicella's most demanding wines: Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG and Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG, both resulting from the appassimento (drying) of grapes and a rigorous set of regulations governing the nineteen municipalities of the denomination. Amarone pushes winemaking towards dryness and structure, while Recioto retains its residual sweetness: two opposite outcomes from the same method, demanding precise control over fermentation and aging. After almost a century, the company beautifully balances respect for traditional protocols with a more accessible interpretation of the wine, without compromising its inherent character. The result is bottles that speak the cosmopolitan language of historical Venice and transcend generations while maintaining unwavering fidelity to the Veronese territory from which the dried grapes originate.
