Romagna Albana DOCG

From Bologna, Branchini safeguards one of Emilia-Romagna's defining denominations: Romagna Albana DOCG, the region's emblematic white, cultivated across twenty-two municipalities. Albana, along with other permitted white grape varieties, forms the basis from which the winery derives two distinct interpretations of the same fruit. The first is a still white wine, the second a passito, both exceeding the minimum stipulated 12% alcohol content. In these two versions, Romagna's calcareous geology translates into opposing yet complementary styles: on one hand, an everyday drinking wine, on the other, a meditation wine, conceived for after-dinner enjoyment. It's a restrained yet revealing range, demonstrating the stylistic breadth a single white grape variety can encompass when terroir and human touch decide to push it in different directions.
