Brunello

Lugana DOC

Brunello operates within the Lugana DOC, a white wine denomination spanning five municipalities straddling the border between Lombardy and Veneto. The work revolves around Turbiana—also known as Trebbiano di Lugana—a grape whose mineral backbone and saline vein define the recognizable style of the area, forming the sole basis of the entire winery's production. From this single variety, the winery crafts an articulated range, from fresh and immediate whites to more structured superiore and riserva versions, all adhering to the minimum eleven percent alcohol content stipulated by the production specifications. This monovarietal choice, applied to a specific terroir, becomes Brunello's method for exploring the various possible depths of a single grape. It's an interpretation that presents Lugana not as a uniform white, but as a spectrum of expressions—from an everyday drinking wine to a cellar-worthy reserve—capable of showcasing the full potential of one of northeastern Italy's most distinctive whites, where the consistency of the grape becomes a ground for experimentation.
